What is Adsense Click-through Rate (CTR)?
The Google Adsense click-through rate (CTR) represents the number of clicks on your ads that they show multiple times to their site visitors. For example, if your ads get 5 clicks (impressions) out of 100 views, then your Adsense CTR will be 5%.
Google uses a simple formula to calculate Adsense CTR.
Total number of ad clicks = Total number of impressions = Click-through rate (CTR)
Apart from traffic generation, CTR is the most important factor that affects your Adsense earnings.
If your CTR is low, then thousands of visitors are of no use.
A low CTR means that you are not fully utilizing the potential of your website traffic and doing much less than you can by generating more ad clicks.
How is Adsense CTR calculated?
I have already told you the formula Google has used to calculate Adsense CTR.
But what if you own multiple sites with the same AdSense code?
Adsense CTR is calculated for your Adsense account, not your individual sites.
This means that if you have four different sites and one of them has a really bad CTR, it will affect your overall advertising account CTR.
Why Adsense CTR is important?
If your Adsense CTR is low then why does it matter?
First, it means that you cannot make as much money from your advertisements. This is either because people are not finding your content attractive and do not have enough time to click on your ads.
Or you have not optimized your ads for conversions only.
Secondly, Google uses your account CTR to determine the overall quality of your Adsense account which affects the advertisements displayed on your site.
What is a good Adsense CTR?
There are a lot of theories and myths about the overall Adsense CTR but in reality, no one knows for sure.
In my experience, anything between 3% –5% is very good.
But if you are in a high CPC niche, you can earn an amount (or even more) with a 1% CTR compared to a site in a lower CPC niche.
How much does Google AdSense pay per click?
The average cost per click in Google ads is between $ 1 and $ 2 on the search network. The average CPC on the Display Network is less than $ 1.
How much does AdSense pay per 1000 views?
1000 page views means that you are receiving an average of 5 clicks per day. Therefore, 5 clicks per day = 150 clicks per month. So if the cost-per-click OS is $ 0.20, for 150 clicks it becomes $ 30 per month.
Why is my AdSense revenue so low?
Many publishers face a sudden drop in their earnings, CTR and RPM. Why? Anything can happen due to irrelevant ads appearing for a particular keyword, invalid clicks or even a drop in cost-per-click. The cause must be determined on an account-by-account or site-by-site basis.
Can Google AdSense Make You Rich?
While AdSense is a great way to monetize a website, websites that are created for the sole purpose of running AdSense ads are not favored by Google. … Yes, you can use AdSense to make money from an established blog that has lots of traffic and visitors.
Is Google AdSense secure?
Google AdSense remains a very safe and stable means to earn an online income, all you need to do is play by the rules! If you want to know more, be sure to check out our resources page and education pages!
9 Top Ways to Increase AdSense CPC
These are just examples, and your income per 1,000 visitors will depend on the relevance of Adsense ads to your visitors and the ads are located on your site. There is a lot you can do to improve CTR, but first notice how you can attract the best-paying ads: the ones with the highest CPC.
1. Get Quality Traffic
This is the # 1 tip for increasing AdSense CPC. Many leave it to the last or do not even mention it. It is my view that if your visitors are not focusing properly on your niche, they will not click on the ads. You should make sure that your traffic is what you are advertising.
Many people use AdSense on their sites in the belief that Google will provide relevant ads. As you will soon know, this is true. However, when you may incorrectly believe that your CPC will not change due to failure to achieve this relevance on your page, your CTR will certainly be there. Some will click on an ad related to a keyword or phrase that visited your site.
It is very important for your web page to be relevant to a specific keyword in order to get ads that target that keyword, and it is also important that your visitors have enough interest in the topic for which they Click on the advertisement with a serious view. Purchase a product.
2. Do Your Research
The second way to increase AdSense CPC is equally important. You should research your niche for the highest paying keywords. The way AdWords operates is that advertisers bid on keywords. The more they pay per click for a specific keyword, the higher their ad will appear in the Google SERPS. The niche is irrelevant – what is relevant is that every advertiser is willing to bid for that keyword to get a # 1 or even a page # 1 position for their ad on the Google SERPS.

3. Entire domain matters
Google is not stupid, and will take the subject of your entire domain into consideration. You cannot publish pages on a wide variety of topics and expect to receive relevant advertisements on each. Google will look at the authority of your entire site and the relevance of top-paying keywords. An authority site can be rewarded with high-priced keywords because Google takes care of its advertisers.
4. Balance the ad block number with the length of the content
You are allowed three AdSense blocks on your page. However, do not use all three unless your content or blog posts are sufficient to warrant it. Keep in mind what you’ve read above: Google advertises according to its content!
5. Analyze Your Ad Position
You can place ads on the top of your page, in the middle, at the bottom, as a footer on every page or anywhere you like. Google usually provides you with the highest paid advertisement designed to load you into the first slot. Are you aware of the loading order of each element on your blog or website page? If not, check your source code (Ctrl + U) or concern with your theme developer.
6. Use AdSense CPC to Increase AdSense CPC
You can set up your tests using AdSense channels. You can create custom channels to establish CPC and CTR of individual ad blocks. Measure the performance of each channel over a 2–4 week period and then design your AdSense strategy on the results. Channels can be created for individual advertisements or ad blocks.
7. Text, Image and Video Adsense Ads
During your testing and custom channel analysis, keep in mind that some people prefer text ads to image ads, and some prefer video ads. Many expect AdSense ads to be text links, and intentionally avoid them. However, they can click on an image and click even more to watch an interesting video. Google classifies ads as image ads – when a video. When Play is clicked, you are recorded one. There is no need to play the entire video – just initial click on the play button.
8. Place at least 2 advertisements within posted content
I know, mixing ads in your content is ugly, but this is where your ads can get the most exposure. I like to have at least 2 ad blocks within the content: 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.
9. Use Text and Image Based Advertising
With Adsense, you are allowed to choose whether your ad unit is image based or text based. Unless you love a type of advertisement seriously, try using text and image based.
